Services

Play Therapy

Weekly 60-minute individual Play Therapy sessions for ages 3 and up. The play is focused on the age and developmental stage of your child and adjusted accordingly. Play includes anything from interactions with toys, art materials, music and moment. The child leads the play and the therapist supports them by remaining attuned and responsive. When appropriate, the therapist will use the play to teach or model skills and strategies she is aware a child needs. There is often a brief part of the session that also includes a “brain exercise” which includes a more directive activity to build brain health, such as emotional regulation, coping skills or focus. An important component of individual therapy for young children are  parent sessions and it is required of parents to also arrange and maintain regular times to meet and collaborate with the therapist in order to create to supportive  environment for your child. I am also available to be in contact with your child’s school as need, in order to offer cohesive  recommendations and supports across all settings. Please click here to book a call!

These sessions include cognitive behavioral techniques, dialectical behavioral therapy, Exposure Response Prevention (for OCD), mindfulness practices,  EFT (Tapping technique), art and movement/somatic  exercises. Weekly, individual psychotherapy sessions are also available to parents who are interested in gaining a better understanding of themselves in order to feel more fulfilled and more centered as individuals and as caregivers. Sessions can be in person or virtual. Please click here to book a call!

Parent Training

I offer short-term individualized sessions or group workshops (4-8 weeks). These sessions and workshops are to support parents with children as young as toddlers up through school age to better understand child development and provide supports and strategies for sticky and tricky parenting moments. They also offer caregivers an opportunity to be self-reflective and build self-awareness so that as you move through life with your child you can be more responsive, and less reactive. These sessions and workshops will provide an understanding around how to develop both the parent and the child’s social/emotional intelligence through concepts related to neuroscience (to better understand your nervous system and brain), interpersonal dynamics and mindfulness practices. If you are interested in individualized sessions or  being notified about upcoming workshop details, please click here!

School Groups

I offer group work to schools from preschool through elementary school with a focus on social/emotional learning to support children’s ability to identify their  emotional state, learn regulation skills, develop a growth mindset and build confidence. Curriculum includes bibliotherapy, art projects, movement activities and mindfulness practices.  Teacher and parent training workshops within the school are also available with an emphasis on understanding the neurobiology of emotions and the brain and nervous systems role in emotions, regulation and learning. Strategies and supports offered are aligned with this framework of understanding children and their brain development.
